Who We Are

UTSC Campus, Old Kingston Road and the Route North
Students head north on Markham Road from the campus and Old Kingston Road area, then east along Highway 7 to reach the clinic at McCowan Road.

Diagnosis and clearance after a concussion belong entirely to your physician, and nothing here replaces that. What happens at this clinic is a staged exertion programme once clearance is given, starting well below the level that provokes symptoms and rising only when each stage is tolerated without them. Clearance is confirmed before starting. Each stage has a symptom threshold. Your physician receives updates on request. Neck symptoms are screened. Nothing is rushed for a season.

Chiropractors, physiotherapists, and registered massage therapists collaborating under one roof, so your care is coordinated, not fragmented.

We assess how your body actually moves, then build a treatment plan that restores function from the foundation up. Kinetic. Core. Foundation.

“The stages exist because symptoms decide the pace.”

Return protocols look rigid until you understand that the timeline is set by symptoms rather than by days. Two people cleared on the same date can be weeks apart at the finish, and pushing to a schedule is what tends to send people backward. Stepping back is a normal outcome.

What We Offer

Exercise Rehabilitation and Recovery Care for Highland Creek Students

Recovery involves exertion tolerance, neck symptoms and confidence together. Several regulated professions work in this building, so the parts within scope can be addressed alongside your medical care. Assessment decides what applies.

Chiropractic Care

Neck symptoms frequently accompany a head injury, and chiropractic care can address restriction where assessment supports it. Techniques stay gentle here. Findings are explained plainly.

Physiotherapy

Neck and vestibular symptoms need proper assessment, and physiotherapy provides that alongside the staged exertion work. Referral between us is straightforward. Notes are shared with consent.

Registered Massage Therapy

Neck and shoulder tension is common after a head injury, and massage therapy can ease that tension gently. Pressure stays comfortable. Sessions are paced carefully. Consent is confirmed.

Acupuncture

Persistent neck pain slowing progress sometimes eases when acupuncture is added to the wider plan. Points follow the assessment. Reasoning is explained. Consent is taken each visit.

Class IV K-Laser Therapy

Localised neck pain can be treated with Class IV laser therapy while the staged programme continues. Sessions take a few minutes. Nothing invasive is involved. Classes carry on as normal.

Custom Orthotics

Balance work features in later stages, and custom orthotics cast on site can steady the base underfoot. Sport footwear is fitted at casting. Gait is reviewed first. Casting takes one visit.

Exercise Rehabilitation

Once your physician has cleared exertion, exercise rehabilitation led by a Registered Kinesiologist runs the staged return protocol. Symptom thresholds are written down. Stages progress individually.

Pelvic Floor Therapy

Students with pelvic symptoms during sport can arrange pelvic floor therapy with a pelvic-health physiotherapist. A private treatment room is used. Assessment stays discreet. Consent guides each step.

Pediatric & Pregnancy Chiropractic

Family members attending together can add pediatric and pregnancy chiropractic, gentle low-force care for musculoskeletal comfort. Pregnancy back ache is common. Children are treated gently.

How It Works

Your Path from Pain to Lasting Movement

Every patient at KC Rehab follows the same proven four-step process, designed to uncover the root cause of your pain or restriction and build a recovery plan that actually lasts.

Step 1

Consultation and Assessment

Your first visit begins with a detailed conversation about your history, lifestyle, and goals. We then perform a hands on movement assessment to identify the underlying mechanics behind your symptoms.

Step 2

Personalized Treatment Plan

Based on your assessment findings, we build a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs, goals, and timeline. This may combine chiropractic, physiotherapy, RMT, acupuncture, and exercise rehabilitation.

Step 3

Active Treatment & Therapy

Your plan comes to life through manual therapy, targeted exercise, and the modalities best suited to your condition. Every session is monitored and adjusted based on your progress.

Step 4

Ongoing Care & Prevention

Once you have recovered, we equip you with the exercises, ergonomic advice, and maintenance schedule you need to stay pain-free and continue moving well for years to come.

Why CHoose Us

Why Highland Creek Students Return in Stages

Nothing begins until your physician has cleared exertion, and each stage afterwards is governed by symptoms rather than by a date on a calendar. Symptom rules are written down. Stages progress individually. Timetables are accommodated. Parking is free.

Physician clearance required first

Diagnosis and clearance belong to your physician, and no exertion programme starts here until that has been given. Bring any written guidance.

Symptom rules written down

What to do if symptoms appear during a stage is agreed and recorded before you need it rather than decided in the moment. Rules go home with you.

Stages progressed individually

Each stage is held until it is tolerated without symptoms, which means timelines differ considerably between two people cleared on the same day.

Student timetables accommodated

Sessions run through the day and into the evening, so the protocol fits around lectures rather than competing with them. Rebooking is straightforward.

RESTORE. REBUILD. RECOVER.

Whether it has been a week or a decade, you do not have to keep adjusting your life around pain. Book your initial assessment at KC Rehab today and find out what real, movement based recovery actually feels like.

Frequent Asked Questions

Who decides when exertion can begin?

Your physician makes that decision, and no staged programme starts here before clearance is given.Bring the written guidance to your first visit. Patients from West Hill are asked for the same documentation. Nothing here replaces medical care. Clarification is sought where unclear.

Stages move from light aerobic work through sport-specific movement to non-contact training and finally full participation. Each is held until tolerated. KinetiCore Rehabilitation Centre records symptom response at every stage before anything advances. The sequence is explained fully.

Activity stops for that session and the stage repeats once symptoms have settled again.Stepping back is expected rather than a failure. To ask how the rules would apply to you, contact us before booking. Everything is recorded each time. Stepping back is expected. Nothing is pushed through.

Extended complete rest is no longer standard advice, and light activity within symptom limits is generally encouraged after an initial period.Your physician sets that. Patients from Rouge often arrive expecting the older guidance instead. Guidance has changed considerably. Your physician decides.

Stages commonly last at least a day each, though many people need considerably longer at one or two of them.Symptoms decide rather than the calendar. Patients from Morningside progress at markedly different rates through them. Nothing is compressed for a season. Each stage must be tolerated.

Return to learning generally precedes return to sport, with academic load built back gradually.Your physician and the university guide that side. Accommodations are worth asking about early rather than after assignments are missed. Both returns are staged separately. The university guides that side.
